How Much is Enough?
There is an answer.
How much is enough? Enough money, enough friends, enough possessions, enough love?
Enough angst, enough anger, enough of people telling you what you should think and how you should feel?
The answer will be different for everyone, yet there is an answer.
Where you are in life has a lot to do with this. Enough for someone in their 20’s is different than enough for someone in their 60’s. It’s an ever-changing thought, and the correct answer is yours and yours alone.
If you can’t figure out why you’re anxious or nervous, you don’t have enough of something, or why you feel unloved (or unlovable), you may or may not be able to figure things out by yourself. Talking it out with someone you trust, or a professional counselor could be helpful.
It’s important to check in with yourself occasionally to ascertain what is truly enough. Clinging to a dream is fine; reflecting on it may help you realize you truly have enough. Putting up with something that affects your life negatively in any way is when enough is enough.
Do you feel like it’s never enough? Is this because you’re making up for something that has previously been lacking in your life, or because you want something but feel as if you don’t deserve it?
Things to think about, and please take an occasional look at the things you want out of life. You may be surprised at what you’ve already worked out without realizing it. You may discover new things to strive for.
You may discover that you have enough.
