How George Strait Taught Us the Importance of Good Voting

American’s love a good vote. It starts not long after we learn to write, as George Strait sings about in his 1995 hit “Check Yes of No”. He is handed a note by a little girl who would like to be his friend.

“Do you love me do you want to be my friend?

And if you do

Well then don’t be afraid to take me by the hand

If you want to

I think this is how love goes

Check yes or no”

Off we go! Check the box for which lunch offering you would like. Who would you pick for your dream date? Homecoming King and Queen? Which Disney character are you? If you were a hotdog topping, which one would you be? Every Survey Monkey you’ve every filled out? It is all a form of voting!

If you look at the entire voting process with that sort of attitude it does not look nearly as scary and overwhelming does it?
